Greetings in our sovereign covenant Lord’s name. I believed that for His mercy you are doing well in coming winter. Here still hot, but day time is quite short, about 5:40 at the evening Sun light is already gone.
We never thought of, Isis and Taliban and that sort of terrorism will get to our shore, but now is, our country is bordered to Bangladesh Muslim country, and their population is exploding, and the border State of our country to that nation is called, “Rakhine” State. That state will be familiar to you, because in our Reformed teaching conferences that you conducted for us, quite a number of people were from that state. To that state, terrorists from Bangladesh came in and killed a numbers of border policemen. So, our country has the first time attack by these Islamist extremists. Many of that area running away, and government troops are fighting against them.
These people are trained by Pakistan Taliban, Bangladesh was last time part of Pakistan nation. So, all the involved countries were one time, under one-empire with India, that is British Empire. From, as early as, 1820s India continent, including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, was under British rule, and 1886 our country, Burma(now called Myanmar), was under British rule. So, the people of those countries were quite free to go around because all are under one-rule. But after WWII every thing changed, British had to give them independent, and became seperate nations. India was separated from Pakistan, and got their independent at 1947, the divided line that the British was according to religion, India was majority Hindus religion, and Pakistan was majority Muslim religion, and Bangladesh was called first East-Pakistan, because though this region is actually closer to India, it was and is majority Muslim. Than at 1971, backed by India got independent from Pakistan and called itself until today, Bangladesh. And our country, Burma(Myanmar) also got independent on 1948. That is the beginning of border problems as well as borderline-tribal problems. Last time, under British rule, they can stay at the border-line and no problem, bur now separate country, some tribes did not realized, the lines were drawn, you can understand them because most border-line tribes were uneducated and communications were too poor, they even did not know where the British lords were.
Certainly, at the Bangladesh-Burma(Myanmar) border, some tribes called Bingali groups, not belonged to both countries. After some time, those people were Muslim, so they had many wives and too many un-watched children, and un-wanted children, they roaming around at the border of both country, and since our country is easier to find food than in Bangladesh, they settled at the border of Rakhine state of our country. In the world these people called themselves “Rohinja.”
Now these people multiplied so many, they wanted to capture Rakhine state and made their own Muslim country, they got their military training under Pakistan Taliban and Isis. That is right now, what happening in here.
I asked to our contacts of Rakhine state, they said the problem is not near to their villages. But soon can reach, and many Muslims in our country especially from Yangon city are sympathetic toward them, so, all terrorist attacks can reach Yangon at any time. We pray that those bad extremists, whether from Buddhism or Muslim, may not made troubles in our midst.
In His providence care we can still have Tuesday Bible class, and we still discussing “Essentials of Reformed Doctrine.” Last time we met, we discussed a lot on God’s goodness and how the evil comes about. Evil is in His eternal counsel, He hates evil, but for His glory with His great wisdom, He has it in His counsel, He is the only Sovereign Lord of all.
